• Content that encourages self-harm or harm to others
• Misinformation about pet health, nutrition, or care that could lead to harm

3.3 Hateful Content

Content that promotes hatred, discrimination, or violence against individuals or groups based on attributes such as:

• Race, ethnicity, or national origin
• Religion
• Disability
• Gender, gender identity, or gender expression
• Sexual orientation
• Age
• Veteran status
• Pet ownership or pet preferences

3.4 Harassment and Bullying

Content that harasses, intimidates, or bullies others, including:

• Personal attacks or derogatory comments
• Content that shames others for their pet care choices (when not harmful to the pet)
• Repeated unwanted contact or attention
• Doxxing or sharing others' private information without consent

3.5 Graphic or Violent Content

Excessively graphic or violent content, including:

• Depictions of animal abuse or suffering
• Graphic medical procedures without appropriate context and warnings
• Gratuitous violence or gore

3.6 Adult Content

Sexually explicit or adult-oriented content, including:

• Pornography or sexually explicit material
• Content that sexualizes pets or animals
• Content that sexualizes minors in any way

3.7 Spam and Misleading Content

Content that is spammy, misleading, or deceptive, including:

• Excessive posting of the same content
• Misleading claims about products, services, or pet care
• Scams or fraudulent offers
• Manipulated media that could mislead users in harmful ways

4. Pet Welfare

At egypet, the welfare of animals is our top priority. Content should reflect responsible pet ownership and care:

• Do not post content that shows pets in distress or dangerous situations for entertainment
• Do not promote or glorify pet obesity as "cute" or desirable
• Do not share content that encourages improper breeding practices or pet acquisition
• Do not post content that shows pets being trained or handled in ways that could cause physical or psychological harm

Content that shows pets in temporary mild discomfort for necessary care (such as veterinary procedures, grooming, or training using positive reinforcement) is generally acceptable when shared in an educational context.

5. Commercial Content

Commercial content on egypet must follow these guidelines:

• Clearly disclose any commercial relationships or sponsorships
• Do not make false or unsubstantiated claims about products or services
• Follow all applicable advertising laws and regulations
• Do not promote products known to be harmful to pets
• Commercial content should still provide value to the community

Business accounts should primarily use the designated advertising features for promotional content rather than disguising ads as regular posts.

6. Reporting Violations

If you encounter content that violates these guidelines, please report it through our reporting system:

1. Click on the "..." or menu icon near the content
2. Select "Report"
3. Choose the appropriate reason for reporting
4. Provide any additional details that may help our moderators

Our moderation team reviews reports and takes appropriate action based on these guidelines. We appreciate your help in maintaining a positive community.

7. Enforcement Actions

When content is found to violate these guidelines, we may take one or more of the following actions:

• Remove the content
• Issue a warning to the account
• Temporarily restrict certain account features
• Temporarily suspend the account
• Permanently ban the account for severe or repeated violations

The specific action taken depends on the nature and severity of the violation, the account's history, and the potential harm to the community.

8. Appeals Process

If you believe your content was removed in error or that a decision was made incorrectly, you can appeal the decision:

2. Select "Help & Support"
3. Choose "Appeal a Decision"
4. Provide the requested information about the content and why you believe the decision should be reconsidered

Appeals are reviewed by a different moderator than the one who made the original decision.

9. Changes to Guidelines

We may update these Content Guidelines from time to time to reflect new types of content, community needs, or legal requirements. Significant changes will be announced on the platform, and the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will be modified.
